Rajasthan: Afghan nationals nabbed near Jaisalmer border for suspicious activities

Rajasthan, Dec 09, 2017 : The nabbed Afghanis, who had tourist visas till Jaisalmer, admitted that they were selling medicines in prohibited areas near the border.

The Border Intelligence police took into custody two Afghani citizens late last evening after they were spotted suspiciously operating in a prohibited area near the border in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.

During interrogation, police learned that the two Afghan nationals, namely Mohammad Parvaiz and Mainmula Habibzada, are residents of Kabul.

Taken into custody from Mohangarh Police Station area, the two Afghan nationals had also visited the border area in Jaisalmer’s Ramgarh earlier.

"The Border Intelligence Police had received information that two suspected people were selling medicines on motor cycle" said Rajiv Dutta, Additional Superintendent of Police, CID, BI. Police said the two were operating in a manner that arose suspicion.

The nabbed Afghanis, as per the BI Police, admitted that they had tourist visas till Jaisalmer and that they were selling medicines in prohibited areas near the border.

As per information, three Afghan nationals had arrived in Jaisalmer a few days ago on tourist visa. Whether the duo nabbed by the police were among them is being investigated.

The two Afghani citizens in custody are under interrogation as of now.
