Policeman dead, five others injured after blast at Bangladesh Eid gathering

Dhaka July 07, 2016 : Just days after Bangladesh was rocked by a terrorist attack that left 20 foreign nationals dead, a bomb explosion took place near entrance of country’s largest Eid congregation on Thursday .

Five people were injured in the blast that took place at Sholakia Eidgah, where people had gathered to offer prayers on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr, the day of celebration after the Ramadan.

The unfortunate incident happened at 9:30 am in Kishoreganj area.

Following the blast, the security agencies have sounded red alert across the country.

Notably, the dreaded terrorist outfit Islamic State recently warned of barrage of terror attacks that would target Bangladesh and elsewhere until an Islamic caliphate prevails worldwide.

On Friday evening, a group of gunmen attacked the cafe in Banladesh capital Dhaka’s diplomatic district Gulshan, killing 22 people including two police officers and twenty hostages, 17 of whom were foreigners.
