Pakistan violates ceasefire to aide infiltrators, BSF foils attempt

Jammu, August 28, 2014: A day after the flag meeting with India, Pakistan again violated the ceasefire agreement in Pargwal sector, where the meeting took place. According to reports, the Pakistan rangers fired at BSF border post at Dewara for 30 minutes at 12 am and then in Akhnoor sector at 4 am. The BSF responded in equal measures, foiling the infiltrators bid of intrusion into the Indian land.

pakistan BSF sources said suspicious movement of terrorists was seen last night in Pargwal area. 9 to 10 suspected terrorists were spotted by alert BSF soldiers near Deora BSF post. The BSF ambush party opened fire at them, foiling the attempt. The Pakistan posts, apparently in a bid to help the infiltrators, opened fire on Indian posts.  Pakistani posts, Shahjamal, Kalial and Javed were engaged in firing with BSF posts, Deora, Chenab and Brahaman Bella in Pargwal area of Akhnoor. This is area if first time active after long time.

BSF sources said that Pakistani rangers used medium machine guns and small arms.

The ceasefire violation occurred a day after  a flag meeting between India and Pakistan was held at the Nikowal Border Outpost in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pargwal Sector on Wednesday. Both the countries agreed to de-escalate tensions along the Line of Control and the International Border.
