Earlier for those testing negative for the coronavirus, the Delhi government had made isolation at a "quarantine centre for seven days, followed by a seven-day home quarantine" mandatory to check the spread of the disease.

Now, the passengers arriving in Delhi from the UK would not have to isolate themselves at a quarantine center. Instead, the passengers would be advised home quarantine for 14 days.

The Delhi government has decided to follow the central government’s guidelines for the national capital for those arriving in the city from the UK, in wake of the new variant of Covid-19.

The Delhi government had recently extended guidelines for air passengers coming to the national capital from the United Kingdom (UK). As per the fresh guidelines, RT-PCR test will be compulsory for air passengers coming to Delhi from the UK and the cost of the test will also be borne by the passengers.

The guidelines have been extended till January 31.
