Mukesh Ambani launches Reliance Jio; voice calls, roaming to be absolutely free

New Delhi, Sep 01, 2016: Giving bumper offer to Indian telecom users, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani on Thursday launched Jio 4G services.

Addressing shareholders at the 42nd RIL Annual General Meet, Ambani dedicated Jio to PM Narendra Modi’s vision of digital India.

Giving update and road map for the company’s telecom venture in terms of network rollout Ambani said, "Jio’s pricing is about solving customers’ pain points. Customer should pay only for one service - voice or data."

Reliance Jio services to be launched on September 5, commercial launch on December 31

RJio Wi-Fi hotspots to be installed across India by Mid-2017

On RJio Data, voice, video, apps, will be free for all from September 5 to December 31

Reliance Jio cinema will have a library of more than 6000 movies. Jio music to have 10 million songs

In the spirit of One India, roaming charges will also be zero across India

Jio tariffs are explicitly designed to give you the full freedom and flexibility to use as much data as you want

Jio data plans go further with a tariff of Rs 50/GB

The more data you use, lower will be the rate

These are absolutely the lowest data rates anywhere in the world

Era of paying for voice calling is over

All voice calls will be absolutely free for Jio customers

Jio’s app booking, worth Rs15,000 for an annual subscription, will be available free for all active JIO customers till Dec 31, 2017
