Sanjeev Dwivedi, a lawyer practising in Lucknow bench of Allahabad court, said he treated the veteran BJP leader as his father and wished to serve him. The case might come up for hearing soon.

Vajpayee is currently admitted in AIIMS, Delhi.

Reportedly, Dwivedi was inspired by Vajpayee in 1996 and considers the latter his God. He has also met him, and claims he was teary-eyed then.

Other than memorizing Vajpayee’s poems, he has also written verses in his praise.

He said he was worried about Vajpayee’s deteriorating health and wanted to take care of him. Dwivedi hoped the apex court would not disappoint him.

Dwivedi said he had a photo of the iconic statesman in his house’s temple and he begins his day by worshipping him.

In his petition, Dwivedi quoted the Hindu epic in which Lord Brahma had 14 ’manas’ sons. He also argued Swami Dayanand Saraswati had two such sons.

The case will be heard in July, and Dwivedi has high hopes from it.

The former Prime Minister was rushed to the premium medical institute in Delhi for urinary tract infection. The doctors said he will recover soon. Many political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, paid a visit to Vajpayee to check on his health.
