Kabali: Rajinikanth begins shooting on Ganesh Chaturthi

New Delhi, September 17, 2015: Even before the filming of Kabali began, the Rajinikanth-starrer has been creating a buzz every week with something or the other, be it news about the cast or the leaked photos from the sets or the first look of the film. Kabali has been in the news ever since it was officially announced. The shooting commenced today (September 17), and one can only imagine how busy it’s going to keep Rajini fans from now on.

The crew started the film with the traditional pooja, and social media has gone into a tizzy about it already. Soundarya Rajinikanth, the superstar’s daughter, took to Twitter to share the news about the shoot.

Initially, the shoot of the film was supposed to have begun in Malaysia, but due to the situation in that country, the location was shifted to Chennai. It is also said that the foreign schedule will begin once the Chennai portion of the film is done with.


Directed by PA Ranjith, the film stars Radhika Apte, Attakathi Dinesh and Dhanshika in pivotal roles. Kabali is based on the life of Kabaleeswaran, a real-life don from Mylapore, Chennai. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music for Kabali. He had earlier collaborated with PA Ranjith for the latter’s previous film Madras.
