After hacking Scindia’s account, the hackers posted on old video of his where he was attacking the BJP and polices of the Modi government. The video was from the time when Jyotiraditya Scindia was a prominent Congress leader.

Scindia’s social media team figured out the issue and took down the controversial video, following which the Facebook account was restored.

On Thursday, the Gwalior Police registered an FIR based on a complaint by former MLA Ramesh Agarwal.

The police have filed a case against unknown people under the Information Technology Act and have started investigating the matter.

In March last year, Scindia had played a key role in installing a BJP government in Madhya Pradesh after he left the Congress and joined the BJP with nearly two dozen Congress MLAs loyal to him.

His move triggered a chain of events which finally culminated in the collapse of the Kamal Nath government just 15 months after its formation, paving the way for the BJP to assume power which it lost towards the end of 2018.

On joining the BJP, he was made a Rajya Sabha member, while Shivraj Singh Chouhan came back as the chief minister.
