Illegal mining case: Interim bail granted to HDK

Bengaluru, May 17 2017 DH: A local court has granted interim anticipatory bail to former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy in the illegal mining case. The former minister had filed an application before the Lokayukta special court seeking interim anticipatory bail.
Earlier the court had posted the matter for orders to Wednesday.
Sources in the Special Investigation Team (SIT) said that the court had not issued notice to the SIT in the said application.
Baderiya was arrested by the SIT for allowing Janthakal Enterprises to lift iron ore based on two forged letters purportedly issued by Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF).
In the file noting it was stated that there was pressure from the Chief Minister to accord permit to Janthakal within two hours. Kumaraswamy was the Chief Minister during that time.
