Udaipur, June 19: A 17-year-old from Udaipur in Rajasthan has topped the IIT entrance exam. How smart is Chitraang Murdia? He scored 334 marks out of 360.
More bragging rights? He beat nearly 1 lakh 50,000 students for the top spot. He says his first choice among the 16 premier engineering institutions is IIT Bombay.
"I want to get into research either in the field of electronics or computer science. I have an inclination for research and would prefer that over a corporate job," he said from Kota in Rajasthan.
"I want to do something for society by creating solutions to problems of the underprivileged," the topper said.
Chitraang says he studied 14 hours a day to prep for the exam. He would relax by reading his favourite authors - Ken Follett and Jeffrey Archer - and indulging in his mother’s home-cooked rice pulao.
For other young students seeking tips, this is his top reveal on handling pressure: "If you get demotivated or depressed along the way, reach out to your teachers and family for help."
