Chennai, Aug 19 2017, DH News: A day after hectic deliberations among two AIADMK warring factions in Tamil Nadu with regard to the merger, rebel group leader and former chief minister O Panneerselvam on Saturday said that a "good decision" will be attained in a day or two.

"Talks are going on smoothly with regard to the merger. A good decision will arrive in a day or two", Panneerselvam said after chairing a meeting with his supporters.

To a question whether there was a misunderstanding between both factions that led to the delay in the merger, Panneerselvam said that there is no difference of opinion even within the party.

"It (merger) is people’s choice", he added.

Meanwhile, chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami, who also had four-hour discussion with his cabinet colleague on Friday night, left for Tiruvarur to participate in the MGR’s (AIADMK founder M G Ramachandran) birth centenary function.

The much-awaited announcement of the merger of the two warring factions of the AIADMK did not take place on Saturday night, despite both the camps holding lengthy discussions among their respective supporters.
