New Delhi, Aug 10:  A Facebook post by a user named Radhika P Singh alleges that Delhi Police refused to register a molestation complaint by her friend and instead told the victim that forceful kissing does not amount to molestation. The Facebook post has been shared over 4400 shares and counting on the site.

According to Radhika, her friend was walking down M block near Barakhamba red light at Connaught Place when the accused came and tried kissing her in broad daylight.

Radhika in her post had attached a photo of the alleged molester and says that the man is named Nikhil. She went on to add that when he tried to kiss her friend, she screamed and caught hold of him.

According to Radhika, things got worse when the police turned up. She says that her friend was made to write the complaint letter 3 times as the police officer Sanjiv Kumar insisted that the complaint was not clear.

Radhika alleges that on the third and final complaint letter, the policeman informed the two girls that they were “wrong in thinking that she was molested.” The Facebook post says that Kumar said that “trying to kiss a girl is NOT molestation!!!!!!!!!”

She goes on to add in her post, “The sub inspector (Mr. Sanjiv kumar) tried to scare us by saying that we will have to come to the police station, and then come to the court tomorrow in front of the Magistrate and then finally my friend should be calling her parents or relatives. I asked why aren’t his people being called- he said there was no need! It felt as we were the criminals and he is the victim. We realised we live in a place where every girl has to fight for herself.”

In the end of the post, she adds, “The police have even forwarded her number to this guys parents (they called her last night) and now she fears the worst.”
