Crucial AIADMK general council meet begins amid tight security

Chennai, Sep 12 2017 DH News: After clearing the legal hurdle, the crucial ruling AIADMK general council meeting begins here on Tuesday morning amid tight security with more than 90 percent of the party members participating in it.


AIADMKChief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam were among the senior leaders who arrived early to the meeting venue.

Soon after the meeting started, all the AIADMK and general and executive council members paid respect to late chief minister J Jayalalithaa.

AIADMK sources told Deccan Herald that more than ten resolutions are expected to be adopted during the meeting, which was chaired by Palaniswami. The resolution copy will be sent to the Election Commission.

The MLAs, who support "ousted" AIADMK leader TTV Dhinakaran, did not attend the meeting
