CISF man shoots dead 3 at Kalpakkam power plant

New Delhi, October 8, 2014: In a shocking incident, a CISF man gunned down three of his colleagues at the Kalpakkam atomic power plant in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

power plant.The incident took place around 5:15 am at the spot where the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel are camping. The alleged killer has been arrested.
 
"There was an altercation between some security personnel posted at the Kalpakkam nuclear complex. One of them started shooting the others. Three persons died on the spot while two got injured. One of the injured is in a serious condition," an official of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd told IANS, preferring anonymity.

Head constable Vijay Prathap Singh allegedly opened fire from a 9mm carbine, killing assistant sub-inspector Ganesan and head constables Subburaj and Mohansingh at the CISF barracks in Kalpakkam township.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Prathap Singh and head constable Govardhan Singh sustained major injuries and are being being treated at a hospital, police said.

Vijay Prathap Singh has been arrested and is being questioned, police said.
