Body of woman along with newborn found in Vasai

Mumbai, Sep 01, 2016: An unidentified woman with injury marks was found dead in a desolate spot in Vasai on Wednesday. A newborn boy was found lying near the body. The baby has been taken to the hospital and his condition is said to be serious.
The Valiv police were informed about the body lying in a secluded location in Navjeevan locality of Vasai (east). The body had injury marks on the head. A newborn with him umbilical cord intact was lying next to the body. Police believe that the woman may have delivered the baby. Both the body and the newborn were lying in the open for several hours.
Police suspect that the woman may have been killed and the baby dumped along with the mother in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The body has been send for autopsy to ascertain the cause of death. Police are trying to ascertain the identity of the woman.
