New Delhi, Oct 25:  Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will address 17 rallies over the next six days in Bihar starting today, has said that he was confident that the state was "all set for a change". In a tweet before leaving Delhi, he also added that there was "phenomenal enthusiasm" for the coalition headed by his party the BJP.

"Bihar is all set for change. Phenomenal enthusiasm for NDA. Will address rallies in Marhaura, Hajipur, Nalanda and Sona," he tweeted this morning.

The PM’s rallies in the coming week will be aimed at wooing voters in constituencies going to the polls in the remaining three phases of the assembly elections.

Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also said on Saturday said that the BJP and its allies were confident of a clear majority in the elections. "I have no qualms in saying that we have a clear lead in the elections so far. It is advantage BJP. In some cases it will be a one-sided sweep," he said.

He also slammed Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is seeking a third term and is leading an anti-BJP coalition, for his "primitive development model". Mr Kumar has in turn taunted the rival party for seeking votes in the name of the PM. "The BJP doesn’t have a leader. Will Prime Minister Modi become the Chief Minister?" he asked at a rally last weekend.

Responding to his remarks, Mr Jaitley said yesterday, "When the Prime Minster rescheduled his programme because of gap in polls, you said it’s panic. When he devotes, time you say it is panic."

To counter the PM’s rally overdrive, Mr Kumar is going all out to target him over the death of three Dalit children in Haryana, a state ruled by the BJP.

"Over 100 hours & Modiji hasn’t uttered a word on Dalit killings in Haryana - yet him invoking Gandhiji’s ideals is nothing but preposterous," he said in a tweet yesterday. He also refers to the incidents during his election rallies.
