Bangalore pothole kills 7-year-old riding with mother

New Delhi, August 25, 2015: Crater-like potholes on a Bangalore road claimed the life of a seven-year-old boy on Sunday. Likith Gowda and his mother Sunitha were on their way to a relatives’ place on Sunday morning when the incident took place on Tumkuru road.

Sunitha tried to avoid a pothole on the road when she lost control of her two-wheeler and Likith was thrown on the road. A bus coming from behind failed to apply brakes on time crushing the boy on the spot. This is the third such incident in the capital city in a month.

Meanwhile, tension prevailed in Yeshwantpur after the incident. Irate mob asked the passengers of the bus to alight and ransacked the bus breaking its glass windows.

The Yeshwantpur Traffic Police later rushed to the spot to control the situation.
