BJP mocks Siddaramaiah for campaigning with a lemon in hand, calls it hypocrisy

Bengaluru, Apr 04, 2018 : The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday attacked Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by tweeting a photograph of the Congress leader. In the photo, the Chief Minister can be seen campaigning in poll-bound Karnataka with a lemon in hand. Taking potshots at him, Karnataka BJP tweeted: "Campaigns with a lemon in hand, but brings in Anti Superstitions Bill to demean and criminalise Hindu traditions. Hypocrisy thy name is  @siddaramaiah but brings in Anti Superstitions Bill to demean and criminalise Hindu traditions."

 

Twitter war between the Karnataka BJP and Siddaramaiah has now become a regular affair. On Tuesday, BJP had tweeted: "It looks like @siddaramaiah has learnt only ’division’ at his school. Had he learnt addition too, he  would have counted the number of people right." The tweet came after the CM claimed that there was an extremely low attendance at BJP president Amit Shah’s rally in the state.

BJP even went on to equate him with ’failed’ cricketer Ramiz Raja claiming that the one who cannot perform at his own rallies, is questioning the saffron part. "Sometimes we feel Siddaramaiah is like that failed cricketer turned commentator from Pakistan, someone like Rameez Raja. Never really performed at his own rallies, but still has the audacity to come to India matches and lie about our performance," the BJP tweeted.

While the BJP attacked Siddaramaiah, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday tweeted a video mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi. "The poor and the middle class bear the brunt of rising fuel prices. In this video, our PM is quite obviously talking about some other country," he tweeted while sharing the video.

Rahul Gandhi tweeted a video, edited and modified to include parts of a speech by PM Modi, followed by a snip from a television programme, showing Bollywood superstar Salman Khan laughing in a sarcastic manner. In the speech used in the video, PM Modi can be seen addressing a rally wherein he asks people if prices of petrol and diesel have gone down or not. Referring to PM Modi as “The King of Misinformation”, the video mocks him over petrol and diesel prices hitting a record high.
