BCCI boss Jagmohan Dalmiya suffers heart attack

New Delhi, September 17, 2015: BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, who suffered a heart attack, was rushed to BM Birla Hospital in Kolkata on Thursday. Dalmiya has been admitted in the ICU of the Birla Hospital, where an angioplasty was conducted.

Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly visited Dalmiya at the hospital a short while ago.  

"He complained of severe chest pain and now has been put in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), doctors are constantly monitoring his condition," a hospital spokesperson told IANS.

Dalmiya had also been suffering from electrolyte imbalance which resulted in memory loss. The 75-year-old has been rarely visiting his office. Lately, he has been attending only important, top-level meetings.

There were calls asking the veteran administrator to step down from BCCI’s top post. According to a report published in DNA, Sharad Pawar, who heads the Mumbai Cricket Association, called on Union finance minister Arun Jaitley a few days ago and convinced him that Dalmiya must go.
