Andhra Pradesh cricketer who was in sex abuse row ends life

Vijayawada 12 Oct, 2015 : Former Ranji cricketer Maddineni Durga Bhavani committed suicide at her residence in Gunadala of Vijayawada on Sunday. Durga Bhavani, 30, from Vijayawada was an all-rounder. She had made headlines recently when she had alleged sexual harassment by a former ACA general secretary. She later withdrew her complaint against the official before a court and said that she had been forced by an official from Tirupati to do so.

 

 

 

According to Machavaram police, Bhavani was found hanging from the ceiling in her house at around 3.15 pm on Sunday. “Bhavani’s cousin Durgamba came to visit her in the afternoon and found her hanging from the fan hook. She called Bhavani’s brother who rushed to spot,” police said. Bhavani had visited her mother’s house in One-Town on Saturday and had returned to her house on Sunday morning.
