Many of the suspension orders cited violation of service rules.

According to a report by The Indian Express, a Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) from Muzaffarnagar was also suspended for allegedly questioning the Pulwama attack.

Notably, the report added that a headmaster and an assistant teacher were suspended for apparently violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Additionally, an SDM of Shahjahanpur had, on 23 March, ordered an FIR to be filed against a private school teacher for making "objectionable comments based on communal, caste, political and religious lines against respectable animals and politicians" on Facebook.

In the aftermath of the Pulwama terror attack in February, several people across the country had been arrested or suspended from their respective posts over controversial remarks on social media about the incident, in which at least 40 CRPF personnel were killed in Jammu and Kashmir.
