33-year-old female IT staffer molested on road in Pune

July 22, 2017: A 33-year-old employee of a leading IT firm was molested near the Chande-Nande road along the Mula -Mutha river on Wednesday, said additional commissioner of police Shashikant Shinde.

india-rape.jp According to the police official, the victim left her office at Hinjewadi IT Park for home on her moped at 4 pm. As it started raining, she stopped her two wheeler to wear a raincoat on the Chande-Nande road that connects the Hinjewadi IT park to Chandani Chowk. It was during this time that two men in a Tempo approached her and tried to molest her. However, after seeing some vehicles approaching the spot, the duo fled.

The incident came to light after the woman was brought to the hospital by her peers a day later.

"The woman is scared and in a state of shock at the moment. We will probe the case thoroughly," said Shinde.

A case will be registered under Indian Penal Code (IPC) Section 354 at Hinjewadi police station and transferred to Baramati rural police, he added.
