picABU DHABI : The Centre of Waste Management of Abu Dhabi  has launched a comprehensive and novel recycling programme  wherein the residents of the Abu Dhabi are  lured with incentives if they joined the scheme. The main objective of the scheme is to create an aawareness on the need to minimise waste and also to recycle the same.

The scheme is to be implemented in phases. Under the project, two garbage bins would be provided to each household. While one is the green bin for recyclable wastes another is the black bin for the other waster materials. The waste would be collected by private companies which have been awarded contract under the scheme.

According to Majid Al Mansouri, head of the Centre of Waste Management,  the eco-friendly recycling scheme, the first of its kind in the region, aimed at making the city green. Initially the scheme would be launchd in a few parts of Abu Dhabi and would later be extended to other areas.
