Monrovia, (Liberia), April 18:  Good Friday was observed with dedication and reverence at St. Joseph’s Church at Monrovia in Liberia on April 18, 2014. “It was another memorable day for the Parish of St. Joseph’s, Monrovia” said Rev Fr Daniel Libby.   The Youth of the Parish once again staged the passion play.

This year was remarkable, because the Youth were able to send a powerful message through their excellent presentation of this great moment in the history of mankind salvation.

The passion play was not restricted to the campus of the church and school but to the adjacent streets and to the public highway of the city of Monrovia. Many bystanders who were non-Catholics must have been wondering what these youth were trying to convey. Perhaps the message the youth were trying to tell the people that in this world weighed down by conflicts and tragedies there is a solution to all their woes and ills. Through the power of the cross they have the assurance that there is always an Easter Sunday after every Good Friday and With Christ one’s life is an endless hope, without Christ life is an hopeless end.

Rev Fr Lionel Xavier of the Salesians of Don Bosco lead the way of the Cross along with Rev Fr Sony SDB, the Rector of the Salesian Mission in Liberia and Rev Fr Daniel Libby SDB.
