GVOM Season III to commence on May 4

Dubai, Feb 29, 2012 : Mangalore Konkans Dubai will organize the biennial Konkani singing competition and preliminary round of Gulf Voice of Mangalore (GVOM), Season III, on May 4, 2012 at Dubai Gem Private School Auditorium, near St. Mary’s Church opposite K. M. Trading.

                  

 

          

 

All Konkani speakers residing in the UAE, provided they are of Mangalore origin, are free to participate in this competition, which will be held in categories such as 6 – 8 years, 9 – 11 years, 12 – 14 years, 15 – 17 years, and above 18 years. Categories such as solo singing for all age grounds, duets for mixed and single gender persons above 18, and mixed group singing for people of all age groups are also available. The winners of the previous season are not permitted to participate.

Six male and six female singers will be chosen to participate in the semi final of GVOM III, which will be held at the end of September or the first week of October 2012. During the semi finals, two finalists, one male and one female, will be selected to participate in the finals, which are scheduled to be held in Doha, Qatar on Oct 19, 2012.
