Dubai AirshowDubai, Nov 12, 2011: Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president, prime minister, and ruler of UAE, will officially inaugurate the 12th biennial Dubai Airshow event on Nov 13 Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The event will conclude on Nov 17 Thursday at Airport Expo.

The Dubai Airshow of this year is expected to be the biggest of its kind so far, with around 55,000 delegates participating. Tickets can be purchased at www.dubaiairshow.aero; they cost just $50 for five days.

Dubai Airshow MD Alison Weller said that the airshow would feature UAE’s colors in honor of the nation’s 40th anniversary and also be a celebration of the aerospace industry. Viewers can enjoy the sight of advanced fighters and commercial airlines making splendid maneuvers. The event will have on display Dassault’s Rafale Fighter, Boeing’s F18 Super Hornet, and the Eurofighter Typhoon, along with a number of other military and civil aircraft. Moreover, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner will be displayed for the first time during this show, along with 120 other aircraft.

Since the nation is celebrating its 40th anniversary, UAE’s aerobatic team, the Al Fursan, will present the opening show featuring Alenia Aermacchi aircraft. Another aerobatic team, the Patrouille de France, will join them with Alpha jets.

The chief patron of the Dubai Airshow is Shiekh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, along with Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, UAE Armed Forces, and Dubai Airports.
