Abu Dhabi: KCO throwball, volleyball tourney on Jan 31

Abu Dhabi, Jan 16, 2014 : Konkani Cultural Organisation (KCO), Abu Dhabi will be organising ’KCO Throwball and Volleyball Tournament 2014’, on January 31 at Abu Dhabi Indian School grounds.

  This will be yet another opportunity for sports lovers to give vent to their sporting talent in throwball  and volleyball during this pleasant season.

The tournament will be conducted in the following categories:

1. Ladies’ throwball

2. Men’s throwball

3. Men’s volleyball

The organisers are expecting this to be a very exciting event, in view of the fact that a number of reputed throwball and volleyball teams hail from this region. KCO president Valerian Dalmeida has extended a warm invitation to all the sports enthusiasts to participate or witness this event and support their favourite teams.

The tournament will commence at 8 am and is open to teams comprising members residing in the UAE. The teams will be divided into pools and matches will be played on league basis. The pools will be drawn on the spot in the presence of the team captains. Rules of the tournament will be available on request and the players will be also briefed about the rules prior to the tournament.

Trophies will be awarded to the winners and runners up teams. Prizes will be awarded for best overall player and best smasher of the tournament in each category. The organisers will serve free lunch to the participating teams.
