Kuwait, April 21, 2010 : Al Rathath Kuwait organized its maiden Womens’ Throw ball Tournament on Friday, 16th April 2010, at American International School indoor grounds, Maidan Hawally.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chief Guest Mr. Lawrence Pinto delivered the inaugural address and declared the tournament open. Guests of Honor John Fernandes, Louis Lobo, Rudy D’Souza and Sponsor Felix D’Souza were present at the inaugural function and were felicitated with flower bouquets.

Lighting of the lamp was done by Nand & Felea, Rocky & Jovita, Monica & Deepali.

Fr. John Harry D’Souza Asst. Parish Priest of Ahmadi Church, representatives from various associations were presided over.

A total of 9 participating teams across Kuwait marched in to the venue in a different colour code.

Introduction of the participating teams - Al Rathath, AAK, Dubop A & B, Kuwait Konkans, KVWA, shooting Stars, Smashers & Starz held.

The throw ball tournament began at 8.15 am with National anthem of Kuwait & India and prayer led by Dylon Cornelio. Compeer Jaison Lasrado conducted the throwball tournament.

The lively performance of Cheer Girlz team Diona, Janice, Melony, Daphny, Melita, Shanice, Merryl, Vianka, Anice, Rhea, Dylon & Nikita was enjoyed by the audience.

Kuwait Konkans and Al Rathath Emerge Victorious:

The ’Kuwait Konkans’ were the winners of Al Rathath Trophy 2010.
The ladies of ’Al Rathath’ team bagged the second place in the throwball tournament and were runners up.
The ’Smashers’ were awarded third place.
Best Smasher award was won by Emila of Al Rathath team.
Best Server award was won by Anna of Smashers team.
Best Receiver award was won by Freeda of Kuwait Konkans team.
Best All Rounder award was won by Flavia of Kuwait Konkans team.

The referees for the event were Suresh, Ivan, Deeplai and Seema.
The exiting sporting tournament was concluded at 6.30 pm with vote of thanks proposed by Nancy D’Souza.
