May 06, 2021:      Weddings in the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic have forced couples to come up with innovative ideas to celebrate their special day. From matching face masks with wedding ensembles to wearing full PPE gear to get married, couples are doing it all.

 

Amid this, another video of a couple following social distancing protocols at their wedding with a unique trick is doing rounds on social media. In a viral video, which is garnering all sorts of reactions from netizens, a couple exchanged varmala or garlands during the ceremony using bamboo sticks. Yes, you read that right.

The additional transport commissioner of Chhattisgarh, Dipanshu Kabra, shared the video of the couple on Twitter. The caption of the tweet translated to English reads as, “During #Corona, to ensure that marriage ceremonies are a success, event managers have to figure out so many quirky ways.”

The video begins with the bride putting the garland around the groom’s neck using two bamboo sticks. After that, the groom repeats the process.

Since being shared, the video has garnered more than 10,000 views and 1,000 likes. Some people found the video hilarious; others found the whole thing stupid.
