New Delhi, Los Angeles, Oct 31, 2026: For Yash, the road to Ramayana has also come with a wardrobe that speaks as much as his on-screen character. At the Los Angeles world premiere of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend on October 27, the actor came onto the red carpet in a tailored all-black ensemble, but what really stood out for his fans was a beautiful gold brooch inspired by Ravana.

For Yash, taking pieces of his character on stage was important, and it was even more pivotal that he did so without turning the styling into a costume. With method dressing becoming more and more relevant on the red carpet, Yash chose to let his accessories take you on a mythological journey.

The Dashamukha Brooch: Ravana’s Ten Heads

The standout piece at the Los Angeles premiere was a bespoke gold brooch depicting Ravana’s nine heads (with he himself signifying the 10th head), known as Dashamukha. Intricately detailed and finished with delicate gold chains, the accessory stood out against Yash’s black jacket. As per Instagram, stylist Saniya Sardhariya is the mind behind the custom accessories. The choice also draws on the layered symbolism associated with Ravana. In traditional interpretations of the Ramayana, his ten heads are linked to his immense knowledge, including his mastery of the four Vedas and six Vedangas. For Indians, Ravana is not simply the antagonist of the epic but a learned scholar, a powerful ruler as well as a formidable warrior.

The Dashamukha brooch was not Yash’s first use of mythological jewellery to build a connection with his character. At San Diego Comic-Con earlier in 2026, the actor wore a gold trishul-shaped brooch with an all-black look. The trishul, or trident, is closely associated with Lord Shiva, whom Ravana is traditionally portrayed as worshipping.

He was also seen in another custom brooch that featured a mix of floral spear motifs, yalis (mythical creatures seen in south Indian temple architecture) as well as a spear shaped drop that epitomised warrior strength and royalty.

At the Los Angeles premiere, Yash was joined by his wife, actor Radhika Pandit, while co-stars Ranbir Kapoor, who plays Lord Rama, and Sai Pallavi, who portrays Sita, also attended the event. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana: Part One is scheduled to release in theatres on November 5, 2026.
