Husain saab was a jewel we have lost forever, says Madhuri

June 10, 21011: The entire nation is mourning the death of the renowned artist MF Husain and, the ‘Dhak Dhak’ girl Madhuri Dixit, who is known to be the late painter’s muse, is no exception.

MadhuriMadhuri Dixit expressing her remorse over the legendary artist’s demise, the Bollywood diva said that he was a ‘jewel we have lost forever’ and she will always miss him.

"I will fall short of words to express myself on this legend. He shared a very beautiful bond with me. I will always miss him. May his soul rest in peace,” said Madhuri.

Talking about her beautiful association with MF Husain, Mrs. Nene said that she shared a great bond with the painter. The late artist used to call her often to share with her almost all good and bad experiences of his life.

Madhuri further revealed that Husain used to miss his country India a lot. He longed to return to his motherland and enjoy celebrating the colorful festivals of the country.

"Age never touched him. We were in touch always. He would travel a lot and would call me from different parts of the world to share smallest and big details about his life and profession. It was so sweet," said the actress.

She added, "He was a pucca Indian at heart. It’s very sad whatever has happened. He missed being here, especially celebrating the colorful festivals in India."

Besides being the subject of Husain’s numerous splendid paintings, Madhuri was also the heroine of the veteran’s directorial debut ‘Gaja Gamini’.

When asked about the compliments she received from Husain, Madhuri candidly said, "Husain saab was very shy in complimenting me directly. He would cleverly disguise it in the form of praising my expressions and moments from my films. He must have given me more thousand compliments but the most glowing one is where he called me the `complete woman’.”
