
New Delhi, August 3: Just as the news of the former minister of state for external affairs Shashi Tharoor’s formal divorce with his former Canadian wife, Christa Giles emerged, the impending Tharoor-Pushkar marriage has set the media abuzz.

Till  last week Thiruvananthapuram MP’s record showed Christa Tharoor’s name  against a column to signify marital status. Now, Shashi Tharoor’s  divorcee status reflects on the Parliament record confirming the  completion of divorce formalities between the him and Christa.
According  to media reports, the Congress leader is ready to marry his long time  friend and socialite Sunanda Pushkar as early as Aug 17 in an auditorium  in the premises of the Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple in  Thiruvananthapuram, built by the royal family of Travancore.  
The  Malayalam media is buzzing with the details of the Tharoor-Pushkar  wedding scheduled to take place on the Malayalam New Year Day(Onam),  which falls on Aug 17.


These reports on the upcoming marriage have been bolstered by  the fact that the former UN diplomat and his companion were on Sunday,  Aug 1 spotted offering prayers at a Maharashtra shrine. While they  performed a ’sankalp puja’ to Lord Shani in Shirdi, the duo later  offered prayers at the famous Sai Baba temple there.
