Mangaluru, Oct 15, 2019: Creativity is what makes a photographer the Best.  In Annu Mangalore we have one such creative photographer whose clicks  prove his versatility.

A well-known photographer and photo journalist, Harekal Pundalik Pai who was recently elected unopposed as President of Mangalore Press Club is popularly known as Annu Mangalore in professional  circles. Annu ventured into photography in early 1980s while still in his teens assisting his father who was a reputed photographer of his times.   Annu’s career spanning nearly four decades covers photography’s transition from black & white era to colour and high end digital photography. He has adapted to all these transformations with ease and mastered the medium by improvising his technique and skill.

Early in his career, Annu also diversified into photojournalism and opened a parallel profile as one of the region’s leading news photographers. For nearly two decades, he was the principal photographer for Udayavani and   Taranga Kannada weekly magazine. He also serves as the local stringer-reporter for Aaj Tak and has also often worked with other big names like BBC, CNN and NDTV on special assignments.

He has also worked on coffee table book "Temples of Goa" and documentary on World Konkani Centre among others. He had the opportunity to click several dignitaries and celebrities including the present prime minister and former prime  ministers.

Happily married to H. Savitha Pai the couple is blessed with a daughter and son.
