Woman attacked and injured, women’s organizations stage protest

Mangalore, Dec 15: The Mangalore Mahila Okkuta headed by Ms. Vijayalakshmi, its president, along with a number of other women’s organizations staged a protest near Kulshekar Church against Mr. Clifford D’Souza who allegedly attacked Ms. Mariot Pinto. They shouted slogans and displayed huge placards. 








Allegedly, Clifford D’Souza attacked Ms. Mariot Pinto, the Gurkarn of Jude Ward at Kulshekar Church, when she was walking home from the market. He allegedly publicly humiliated her by using foul and abusive language, slapped her, dashed her head to the wall, and kicked her. He even threatened to kill her if she lodged a complaint at the police station. Ms Pinto, who sustained severe injuries on her face and head, is now taking treatment in a hospital. 

The leaders of Kulshekar Church have vehemently condemned the incident. They have all requested the police to arrest Mr. Clifford D’Souza and take stern action against him.
