Manipal police prevent murder, arrest 2

Udupi, May 9: Manipal police have prevented the murder of Jagadeesh Shetty alias Sanoor Jagga of Karkala by arresting William D’Souza of Attur and Kishan Hegde of Inna in Padubidri, who are associated with underworld don Vishwanath Koraga Shetty. The police have also confiscated 8 rounds, 4 mobile phones, 3 ATM cards, and 2 weapons. 

William D’Souza allegedly assaulted Lakshman Poojary of Nandalike in Karkal and was absconding. Later, he went to Sholapur in Maharashtra and attempted to murder Jagadessh Poojary with lethal weapons on April 30 as per information provided by his associate Kishan Hegde. However, this murder attempt was not successful. Later, Vishwanath Koraga Shetty had allegedly ordered William D’Souza and Kishan Hegde to shoot Poojary. 

Jayanth Shetty, the deputy superintendent of Udupi, acted on a tip and arrested the two when they had come to collect pistols at Manipal End Point. Kiran Hegde, the brother of Kishan Hegde, is currently serving a sentence in Bellary Jail for murder.
