Yuvaraj elected unopposed as Udupi CMC President ; Amritha is Vice President

Udupi, Sep 12, 2013 : Yuvaraj Puttur and Amritha Krishnamurthi were elected unopposed as the President and Vice President respectively of Udupi CMC. The elections were  held on September 12, Thursday.


YuvaraMR Pai  of the BJP was elected the opposition leader. The BJP had not filed nominations for the top two posts making the elections smooth sail.

Of the total 33 councilors, 32 were present at the meeting  while  two others abstained.

Speaking after the election, Yuvaraj Puttur said he would give top priority to development of roads and provision of basic amenities. He also promised a corruption free administration.

Srikanth, CMC Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner Dr MT Reju were also present.
