Youth Killed After Car Hits Scooter Near Mulki Bus Stand

Mangaluru, Jun 14, 2026: A 26-year-old painter was killed after a speeding car rammed into his scooter and dragged it for some distance near the Mulki bus stand.

The deceased has been identified as Shashikumar (26), a resident of Kakva near Mulki.

According to reports, Shashikumar was attempting to cross the national highway on his scooter when a car travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi hit the two-wheeler. The impact was so severe that the scooter was dragged along the road, leaving him with critical head and leg injuries.

Local residents rushed to his aid and shifted him to a nearby hospital. However, despite treatment, he succumbed to his injuries.

Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
