Youth Held for MDMA Peddling in Mangaluru; Drugs Worth ₹1 Lakh Seized

Mangaluru, Mar 22, 2026: Konaje police have arrested a 19-year-old youth for allegedly peddling drugs and seized MDMA and other materials from his possession.

The accused, identified as Mohammed Zakir, a resident of Kasaba Bengre, was apprehended following credible information, said City Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy CH.

A police team from Konaje Police Station conducted a raid at a public place near Fiza Grounds in Belma village of Ullal taluk on Sunday. The youth was allegedly caught while selling MDMA to customers, including college students.

Police seized 10.6 grams of MDMA, estimated to be worth around ₹1 lakh. A mobile phone, digital weighing scale, zip-lock covers, smoke tube, syringe, and a motorcycle without a number plate were also recovered.

A case has been registered under Sections 8(c), 22, 22(a), 22(b), and 22(c) of the NDPS Act.
