Young woman from Uppinangady arrested for financing Garuda gang

Udupi, July 12, 2024: Udupi police have arrested a young woman from Uppinangady on the charges of providing financial aid to the Garuda gang members of Kaup. It may be recalled here that the gang members had recently resorted to a street fight with lethal weapons on the Udupi-Manipal highway.

This information was provided by Udupi SP Dr Arun K.

The arrested woman is Shafira (21). She has been accused of not only providing financial help to the gang members but also sheltering them. She is also facing charges of transferring funds and providing mobile phone to the gang members, the SP informed.
