Young housewife commits self-immolation at Ujire; husband critical

Belthangady: September 28, 2015: In a suspected case of suicide, a young housewife has reportedly ended her life by committing self-immolation at Panjolimar in Ujire on September 27, Sunday night.

The deceased is Poornima alias Meenakshi (25). It is said at around 11 pm  she poured kerosene oil and set herself afire. Her husband Suresh Gowda who rushed to her rescue  also sustained serious burn injuries. Though the couple were rushed to the Wenlock Hospital,  Poornima  succumbed to the burn injuries.

 Though the exact reason for the suicide is not yet clear, it has been gathered that Poornima and Suresh had some problem and also that in-laws were reportedly harassing Poornima.

The deceased woman has two  primary school going children.

Belthangady Police are conducting the investigations.
