Young girl from Bantwal drowns in canal near KRS

Bantwal, April 13, 2013: Two persons including a 17year old student hailing from Bantwal taluk met   a watery grave in a canal leading from the Krishnaraja Sagar dam in Mandya on April 12, Fridy.

The deceased are Bhagya, daughter of Shobha S Rao from Kudumundoor in Sajipamooda village. She was a II PUC student s. Sources said she died in her bid to save a child from drowning.

The other person who drowned is Ravikumar, the driver of the vehicle  in which  some people were on a trip to the Brindavan garden. It is said he drowned in the process of rescuing Bhagya.
