Yogish Bhat accuses Lobo of filing false affidavit

Mangalore, Apr 18, 2013: Sitting MLA and BJP candidate for Mangalore (South) Assembly constituency N Yogish Bhat has accused Congress Candidate J R Lobo of  attaching a false affidavit during the submission of nomination papers.

Speaking at the press meet held at District BJP Office on April 18, Thursday, he said that  one NR Rai from Alsoor in Bangalore had lodged a complaint (No.COMPT/LOK/MYS/108/2008)  against Lobo  when the latter was serving as  Commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation.

He said that  J R Lobo has concealed the fact and sworn in a false affidavit and filed the same with his nomination papers, thus committing  offence under Section 125 (a) of the Representation of People’s Act and Section 193 of the Indian Penal Code.

Bhat also said that Lobo will be pulled to the court in this regard and the complaint will be filed at local JMFC court in a week, he said.
