On June 15, Kumaraswamy alleged that Yeddyurappa had sent a messenger, later identified as Lehar Singh, the party MLC and CM’s confidant, to purchase peace between the two parties with money. Reacting against the allegation, the CM challenged Kumaraswamy to repeat his allegations before Lord Manjunatha of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala.

It is widely believed that habitual liars do not approach Lord Manjuntha for judgment and even if they do, they cannot repeat their lie before the Lord. Ultimately, it is Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D. Veerendra Hegde, who gives the final judgment to warring parties.

Kumaraswamy also said that when he had exposed a land scam in which Energy Minister Shobha Karandlaje was involved, she had challenged him to swear before Lord Manjunatha.
