
Puttur, Oct 26, 2023: The owner of a pharmacy in Mangaluru has borne the hospital expenses of a woman from Uppinangady and has also agreed to bear her medicine expenses for the next two months after the pharmacy gave her a wrong medicine instead of the medicine prescribed by a doctor for her nerve related ailment.

The woman had consulted a doctor in Mangaluru and had later approached a nearby pharmacy with the prescription. However the staff there gave a wrong medicine and the woman too did not check the same. Later her condition worsened and she was hospitalized. The doctors who checked the medicines which she was taking were shocked on knowing that she was taking the wrong medication.
Later the family of the woman approached the pharmacy and threatened to file a complaint. The pharmacy owner later agreed to pay Rs 25,760 towards the hospital expenses of the woman and also her medicine cost for the next two months.
