Women thieves posing as customers steal diamond bangles from jewellery store

Mangalore, Jun 2, 2013: Diamond bangles worth nearly Rs 7 lakh were stolen from the Tanishq jewellery store at Balmatta here on June 1, Saturday, by two women who had entered the shop in the guise of customers.

The theft came to light after the women left the shop. It is learnt, the women who entered the jewellery store located at Balmatta  at around 2 pm, asked for gold bangles and managed to divert the attention of the salesman before slipping  in two diamond bangles. When the salesmen realized that two diamond bangles are missing, the CCTV footages were viewed and the women were caught on camera.

One of the lady thief was wearing yellow churidar while another was wearing a coffee coloured churidar.According to sources, the duo, prior to visiting Tanishq had made futile attempts to steal jewellery from two other stores.

Bunder  police  have registered a case.
