Woman found strangled in her house

Udupi, June 25, 2012 : Unknown miscreants killed a 40-year-old woman by strangling her with a salwar shawl at Gundyam in Kemmannu on June 25, Monday.

The deceased is Shakunthala, wife of Ashok Poojary who works abroad. She is the mother of two teenaged daughters.

 

 

The family had recently moved to Gundyam from Badanidiyoor and had held their house warming ceremony in April. A few days later, Ashok went abroad.

When the daughters got back home after college, they saw their mother lying dead in a pool of blood. They alerted the neighbors, who immediately called the police.

The neighbors say that Shakunthala had drawn money from the bank that morning.
