Woman found dead in forest near her house

Puttur, Feb 28, 2012: The body of a young woman was found in the forests of Kuntoor Keddotte in Kadaba, a short distance from her house. 

The victim Renuka (24) is suspected to have been killed by her husband, who has been missing from the evening of Monday. 

           

Daughter of Janardhan Gowda of Achchila in Mardhala, she had worked at a fancy store in Kadaba before her marriage and has an 18-month-old daughter Yajna. She had married Muralidhar four years back. 

Renuka was spotted leaving home with her husband to the forests to get fodder for the cows. They had left the child at home. When the couple did not return even at night, the neighbors went in search of them and found her dead body in the forest. A sickle and a piece of rope were found near the body along with a boulder, which was used to crush her skull. 

According to the local people, Muralidhar had been suffering from some psychological problems from several years. His family got him married, claiming that he was completely cured while actually he continued to suffer from the same disorder. Several prescriptions have been found in the house, indicating that he used to visit a psychiatrist regularly.
