Woman Killed After Falling From Moving Motorcycle on NH-66 in Udupi

Udupi, Feb. 1, 2026: A 53-year-old woman died after falling from a moving motorcycle on National Highway 66 near Kinnimulki in Udupi on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Bhagirathi (53). 

Police said she was travelling as a pillion rider on a motorcycle ridden by her son, Rajat Acharya, from Katapady towards Udupi. Near Jai Wheel Alignment at Kinnimulki, the two-wheeler reportedly skidded, causing the rider to lose control and both occupants to fall onto the road.

Bhagirathi sustained serious injuries in the accident and was rushed to the Udupi District Hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries despite treatment.

The Udupi Traffic Police have registered a case and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
