West Asia Tensions Disrupt Mangaluru Air Services; Gulf Flights Cancelled, Diverted

Mangaluru, March 1, 2026: International flight operations between Mangaluru International Airport and key West Asian destinations were disrupted on Sunday and Monday following the closure of airspace in parts of the region amid escalating tensions after reported attacks by Israel and the United States on Iran.

Airport authorities confirmed that services to Jeddah, Muscat, Dubai, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi were among those affected.


Mangaluru International Airport


Several Air India Express flights were cancelled on March 1. These included IX845 (Mangaluru–Jeddah), IX846 (Jeddah–Mangaluru), IX817 (Mangaluru–Muscat), IX818 (Muscat–Mangaluru), IX831 (Mangaluru–Dubai), IX832 (Dubai–Mangaluru), IX813 (Mangaluru–Dubai), IX841 (Mangaluru–Bahrain) and IX815 (Mangaluru–Abu Dhabi).

On March 2, the airline cancelled IX814 (Dubai–Mangaluru), IX842 (Bahrain–Mangaluru) and IXR16 (Abu Dhabi–Mangaluru).

Flights operated by IndiGo were also impacted. Flight 6E 1467 (Dubai–Mangaluru), scheduled to arrive at 4.30 pm, was cancelled. Outbound services 6E 1438 (Mangaluru–Dubai) and 6E 1468 (Mangaluru–Abu Dhabi) were also called off.

To assist stranded passengers, the airport arranged additional seating facilities at the kerbside area. Airline staff were seen coordinating with travellers regarding rescheduling and providing updates.

Passengers have been advised to check with their respective airlines for the latest flight status before heading to the airport.
