Mangalore, Mar 17, 2014: “The profession of teaching is distinct when compared to other professions.  The major credit of our achievements in lives goes to our teachers,” said Dr. N. Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University.

He was speaking at the inaugural function  of the  silver jubilee celebrations of Mangalore Teachers’  Co-operative Credit Society on March 16, Sunday.

Dr.  Vinay Hegde further stressed the need for students to study in Kannada medium till fifth standard and urged parents to shun the illusion that  English medium education is the best. He also urged teachers to inculcate human values in their students.

Prof. P.C.M. Kunhi, Director of Yanepoya University said a good teacher inspires a student to excel in academics and helps him evolve into a good human being.

Rev. Fr. Wilson  V D’Souza, Secretary of  Catholic Education Board, P.V. Shettigar, President  of Mangalore Teachers Co-operative Credit Society,  KMK Manjanady, Vice President of the Society and others were present on the occasion.

 A special plan named ‘Rajatha Tevani’ which offers 11.50 percent interest for fixed deposit for a period of 4oo days, was launched on the occasion to mark the silver jubilee celebrations of the Society.
